Hania Aamir Reportedly Creates New Instagram Account for Indian Fans After Platform Ban

Islamabad: In the wake of growing digital restrictions following the recent Pahalgam attack, popular Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has experienced a dramatic shift in her online presence. The Indian government recently blocked the Instagram accounts of numerous Pakistani celebrities, including Hania’s, cutting them off from their large Indian fan bases.

Prior to the ban, Hania’s Instagram engagement regularly crossed 950,000 likes per post, bolstered significantly by her Indian followers. Since the ban, however, her posts have been drawing closer to 85,000 likes — a stark 90% drop, which many attribute directly to the sudden loss of visibility in India.

This digital isolation prompted speculation when a new Instagram account under the handle ‘naaamtousunahogaa’ surfaced and was confirmed to be accessible to Indian users. The account quickly gained attention as it was followed by Hania’s official profile, leading many fans and social media watchers to believe that it was her alternate account, created specifically to re-engage with her Indian audience.

While the actress has not officially confirmed this move, the subtle digital trail left behind seems to suggest an effort to stay connected with the audience that once made up a significant portion of her online community.

Hania Aamir, known for her bubbly personality and engaging online presence, enjoys widespread popularity across South Asia, with India forming a major part of her regional fan base. Her appeal has often transcended national boundaries, even during times of political tension. The Instagram ban appears to have hit not just her metrics, but the sense of cross-border digital camaraderie she once enjoyed with Indian followers.

The broader context involves increasing restrictions on cross-border entertainment and cultural exchange between India and Pakistan, particularly on social media platforms. Pakistani celebrities frequently find themselves caught in the geopolitical crossfire, with bans and censorship affecting their reach and revenue. For artists like Hania, who thrive on online interaction, these limitations come as more than a technical issue — they disrupt emotional and professional ties with a large portion of their fan base.

While the Instagram ban remains in place, Hania’s move — if confirmed — to quietly circumvent digital borders through a new account reflects both the persistence of cultural connections and the creativity of artists navigating divided spaces. Fans on both sides now watch closely to see whether the new account evolves into an official bridge, or if it will remain a subtle nod to her Indian admirers.
